Locks of Love is a year long hair donation drive that aims to gather as many hair donations as possible in order to create wigs for women and children suffering from medical hair loss. In turn, these will help the project’s beneficiaries help cope with the changes in their lives and rebuild their self-confidence. This project has been running since 2016 and, for the past five (5) runs, JCI Zugbuana has collected over 400 bundles of hair which in total created 27 wigs that have been donated to Kythe Cebu Foundation. 

 

The project collects hair donations from all over the Philippines. All the donors are given guidelines on how to donate their hair during the event and through the project’s social media. Afterwich, they drop off their hair bundles in designated areas and are given a certificate of participation by Kythe Ateneo, Locks of Love’s wig making partner.
