On March 26th, 2023, JCI Zugbuana hosted the EmpowHER project at the Mabolo Sports Complex, marking their third project launch for Women's Month this year. The event was a huge success, providing over 150 women from Barangay Mabolo with free livelihood and self-defense training, courtesy of the Department of Manpower and Development and Grand Master Tining Arcilla, respectively. Additionally, attendees had access to legal aid, medical aid, and national ID services, which were available to all.
Honorable Jackson Tudtud, Brgy. Mabolo Councilor, and Ma'am Emma from GAD Mabolo were among the notable guests present, alongside Ms. Marian Lay Andales, the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Chairperson of Barangay Mabolo, who were instrumental in making the event a success.
Throughout the day, the Zugbuanas spent quality time with the women and children of Mabolo, adding a personal touch to the occasion, and making it even more impactful and meaningful. EmpowHER was a much-needed opportunity for the women of Mabolo to gain confidence, knowledge, and skills that will aid in their personal and professional growth.
