In celebration of Women’s Month, JCI Zugbuana, in collaboration with Cebu Doctors’ University – College of Dentistry and the Cebu City Jail Female Dormitory, proudly held HealthyHer 4.0: A Dental Mission for Women PDLs on March 22, 2025.

Now on its fourth run, HealthyHer is an initiative designed to uplift and empower women through health-focused outreach. This year’s mission centered on oral health, offering free dental services—including consultations, extractions, and hygiene education—to persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the female dormitory.

More than just a dental mission, HealthyHer 4.0 served as a reminder of every woman’s right to health, dignity, and compassionate care. Each treatment delivered during the event was a step toward restoring not just smiles, but also confidence and self-worth among its beneficiaries.

“Our goal goes beyond oral care,” shared a JCI Zugbuana representative. “It’s about reaffirming to these women that they are not forgotten—that their health and humanity matter.”
The success of the mission would not have been possible without the generous support of volunteer dentists, dental clinicians, sponsors, and partner institutions. Their expertise and dedication created a safe, respectful environment where women felt seen, heard, and cared for.

HealthyHer 4.0 reflects JCI Zugbuana’s strong commitment to women empowerment and community health. Through programs like this, the chapter continues to build bridges of hope, healing, and holistic development for those often left behind.
To our volunteers, partners, and the women we serve—thank you for reminding us that when compassion leads, true impact follows.
Let us continue to carry the spirit of our mission with us as we move forward, and remain committed to empowering and improving the lives of women everywhere.
